Why We Chose Amazon Web Services
Choosing a hosting platform is much like choosing the foundation for a building. The right choice isn’t necessarily the one with the most features—it’s the one that best suits the job.
Over the years I’ve worked with a variety of hosting platforms, from traditional shared hosting through to modern cloud infrastructure. Each has its place and serves different needs.
For many small websites, shared hosting remains a perfectly reasonable option. It is affordable, simple to use and well suited to businesses with modest requirements.
For clients who require greater flexibility, stronger security, improved reliability and room for future growth, I prefer Amazon Web Services (AWS).
AWS provides the ability to build a hosting environment specifically for each website rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all platform. It also offers access to a broad range of cloud services that can be introduced as a website grows, without needing to migrate to an entirely different system.
Equally important is the ability to manage the hosting environment directly. This allows server configuration, security, monitoring and maintenance to be tailored to the requirements of each client instead of being limited by the constraints of a shared platform.
No hosting platform is perfect, and every technology involves compromises. The important consideration is choosing the solution that provides the right balance of reliability, performance, security and long-term value for each individual website.
For the clients I work with, AWS has consistently proven to be an excellent foundation.
